Corby's Award Winning Partnership
Corby Borough Council and Adrenaline Alley are celebrating after being awarded the Community Engagement and Cultural Change Award. The East Midlands Empowerment Partnership has announced them as one of just ten winners and Adrenaline Alley will now walk away with £3,000 Capital Funding.
The Community Engagement and Cultural Change Awards focus on recognising and rewarding outstanding community organisations who have inspired their Local Authority or other public sector body partner towards making a cultural change within their working practices, in order to create a successful and mutually beneficial partnership.
Corby Borough Council has supported Adrenaline Alley to deliver their requirements through a range of departments and officers working together with the team at the Alley. This has included help with planning guidance and support, funding streams and undertaking the evidence gathering and monitoring for the project.
By working together the project has made great strides and now attracts people worldwide. It has hosted over 117,000 visitors since August 2006 and is now an award winning social enterprise with numerous prestigious awards.
Representatives from the Council and Adrenaline Alley will pick up their award at a one day event being held on Friday 2nd July 2010 in Grantham, which focuses on award-winning partnership working between community organisations and public sector authorities.
Leader for Corby Borough Council, Cllr Pat Fawcett, said:
âWe are delighted to have been announced as one of the Community Engagement and Cultural Change Award winners.
âWe are very proud of the partnership work that we do with many different groups and organisations and this award highlights its importance. Through partnership working we are together making positive changes to facilities and services within the community.
âI would like to congratulate Adrenaline Alley for all of the hard work and dedication they have put in over the years to create what is now a world class urban sport facility. We look forward to continuing to work with them and other organisations in the future.â
Development Director at Adrenaline Alley, Mandy Young, said:
âWe are privileged to have been able to build the partnership with the Borough Council and in the process continue to progress Adrenaline Alley and make such a difference and impact to so many people. Itâs been a valuable, consistent and enjoyable relationship that proves social enterprises and councils can work togetherâ
