PRO GAME OF SCOOT

LOCATION:

Building 3 (whole park).

RUNNING TIME:

90mins + Prize giving ceremony

RIDERS:

8 invited by Kota

SEEDING:

To ensure that the best riders are moved on to the final, the pairing will be made where the highest ranked rider rides against the lowest ranked rider.

When doing this, it will (theoretically) ensure that the two best riders will ride against each other in the finals.

  • The riders will play a classic: Rock, Paper, Scissors. The winner will decide who starts.

TRICKS THAT MUST BE INCLUDED IN EACH SET:

Each of the sets must include one of the below-listed tricks, which can be done in any order:

  • a Tailwhip (not including a Kickless or a Rewind)
  • a 360-Spin or more – in any direction
  • a Body-Flip variation, i.e. riders flip upside down – backwards or forwards
  • an overhead trick, i.e. a Bri-Flip, an Inward Bri-Flip, a Buttercup, an Umbrella-Flip, a Scooter-Flip(s), a Throw-Front Scooter-Flip
  • a Quarter-Pipe, i.e. taking off from and landing on the same ramp
  • a Box, i.e. using the park’s centre-box
  • a Rewind, i.e. a Whip-Rewind, a Kickless-Rewind, a Bar-Rewind.

RULES AND TECHNICALITIES:

  • Riders must attempt all tricks set unless it could cause physical harm, meaning an unlearned flip.
  • Heel drag will not count as a landed trick and the judge (via MC) will call for a sketchy redo.
  • If a body part touches the ground, the rider will automatically get a letter (excluding hand plant/foot plant combos).
  • All tricks must be landed for a minimum of 2 seconds for a set/trick to count.
  • Riders will play One to Set, Two to Get, meaning riders will have one attempt at setting their trick while their opponent will have two attempts to land the set.
  • When the rider is on their last letter they will have two attempts and an additional attempt called a “last trick rebate” before they are knocked out.

PRIZE PURSE:

1st - $7,500 USD

ANNOUNCER:

There will be an announcer who will inform if the trick counts or not.

Referees:

2 JUDGES WILL ACT AS THE OFFICIAL ADJUDICATORS IF THEIR IS A RIDER DISPUTE OVER THE ANNOUNCERS DECISION.

SOUL JAM FORMAT INFORMATION

JAM TIMELINE

  • All riders in heat assemble on course in their preferred starting position.
  • Riders are informed of their running order and are introduced to judges and spectators
  • The first rider (Rider 1) commences the heat after the countdown
  • Rider 1 runs until:
    • a) He decides his run is finished
    • b) He falls
    • c) He loses speed
    • d) The MC calls in the next rider after approx. 40 seconds
  • The next rider (Rider 2) can then commence their run or “hit”
  • Rider 2 hands over to Rider 3 after his run ends
  • Riders rotate in their running order until the allotted time ends and the buzzer sounds.

OTHER DETAILS

Riders are free to move around the course in between their hits, without impeding the rider on course. Riders should be in their starting position in plenty of time for their turn. Riders are judged across the entire jam, not individual hits.

The MC will endeavor to let the riders know when it is their last hit, but when the buzzer sounds, the heat ends. If a jam is denoted “+ last trick” the MC will direct each rider to have a run of ONE trick after the allotted time is over. If time allows, riders may be offered multiple tries at their “last tricks”.

Judges will score final considerably lower if the trick is not landed first try.
