Adrenaline Alley was founded by John Chard-Young and his mother Mandy. Following a vicious attack on John whilst skateboarding, the two realised that Corby needed a safe, secure space for young people into practice BMX, Scootering, Skateboarding and inline skating. After John passed away aged 24, Mandy worked hard to grow their project into a place that embodied his passion for urban sports.
What started as a volunteer-created outdoor park is now the largest facility of its kind in Europe. It is an organisation that oozes excitement, fun and inspiration with big aspirations for the future - we hope that you become a part of our story.
Sir David Normington - Former Permanent Secretary at the Home Office
Adrenaline Alley has made an incredibly positive impact on Corby, and the urban sport community as a whole. Not only do we get consistent positive feedback from our staff, volunteers, riders and their parents, but we have received recognition from Government, The Home Office and Corby Police Department for the impact that we’ve made on the levels of anti-social behaviour in Corby.
By spending time with us, young people are taking part in a healthy, active hobby that brings together people of all backgrounds, ages and abilities. We encourage an inclusive, mutually respectful community where everybody is welcome to skate and ride safely.
Our dedication to our community and the wider urban community enables us to provide disability, school and youth group sessions and coaching lessons for young starters and those who want to develop their skills.
We are constantly working to provide the best facilities to the young people of Corby, UK and Europe. We hope to become the European Centre for Urban Sports, and share our love of urban sports across the country in nationwide initiatives.
Above all, the staff at Adrenaline Alley listen to their visitors and aim to give them the experience they want and deserve. We’re driven by passion, ambition and dedication through our board of directors, management team, volunteers and visitors.
We try to continually secure grants and donations for various projects. We need your help to continue John’s legacy and keep The Alley running for years to come.
