NEW INSTANT REPLAY SYSTEM
We’ve installed a state-of-the-art INSTANT REPLAY SYSTEM in the resi and foam area of Building 2.
This is one of the first of its kind in Europe and allows you to rewatch your tricks every time you drop in. It is going to make a huge difference to the progression of all the riders at the park, from the beginners on our Training Club to those preparing for international competitions.
By providing an external perspective each time you try a trick, you can really examine what you are trying to help you learn, improve, and perfect it. It’s also brilliant to help our coaches point out what trainees need to focus on.
The system was inspired by Camp Woodward, but we wanted to be the first park in Europe to offer an instant replay system that covers both foam and resi simultaneously. We also wanted to install it to the highest spec possible to offer unrivaled playback quality.
The camera covers the whole area and is consistently filming in 4K, it is then displayed on an enormous 85-inch 4K screen with a delay that allows you to be back up on the deck to watch yourself hit the resi or jump into the foam pit.
Olympic BMX Freestyle Bronze Medallist, Declan Brooks, said, “The screen is absolutely sick, we’ve been wanting this for years and years. When you’re at the elite level, you want to be able to do a trick and see it played back right there and then rather than getting someone to film it. With this, it’s literally up on the screen in 40 seconds so you can see what you’ve done well, what you’ve done wrong, and go from there.”
British Cycling Team Rider, Ash Finley, added, “I personally think the new screen is amazing. It’s especially good for the sport, for the kids, and for everyone in the skatepark to see where they went wrong, get the trick better, and make it cleaner.”
