Training Club

For a number of years we have developed a training club for young scooter, BMX and skateboard riders. The clubs are held throughout Northamptonshire school term from 18:15 to 19:45 on Tuesday evenings for Skateboard & BMX and Wednesday evenings for Scooter. Since our Training Club began hundreds of young people have developed, improved and increased their confidence, sporting and life skills. Our club sessions are fun, exciting, inspiring, and educational. Organised by level of ability, each group is led by an experienced head coach accompanied by younger professional riders who mentor the trainees while developing their own coaching skills for the future.

Our BMX training club is now the first official British Cycling Freestyle Park Development Centre, helping trainees to progress their skills and learn about all aspects of becoming a great rider. This has been launched by the British Cycling talent development programme which aims to support the growth of the sport as well as to put the building blocks in place to identify the next generation of young riders with the potential to compete in future Olympic Games.

The cost of the training club is up to £45.50 for a 7 week course, the course charges will reflect the number of weeks in the school term. All payments for each course must be received in full by the end of the 1st session as there is no option to pay weekly. If payment is not received by the end of the first day at the beginning of each term, your place will automatically be given to the next eligible person on the training club waiting list.

We have taken every precaution to ensure that our coaching is Covid-secure. CLICK HERE FOR OUR COVID-19 COACHING GUIDELINES.

How Do We Evaluate And Monitor Progress

During the club we take all participants through a standardised course of progression based on their chosen discipline. This involves working through various areas of the park starting with the smallest ramps right up to the largest ramps in THE WAIRHOISE. Instructors tick off various compulsory and optional outcomes as they perform, these are then put into our internal system, printed off and displayed on our community board.

Once a participant has ticked off all the compulsory outcomes for a particular area park they will be awarded an emblem that will appear on the participants Training Club Certificate awarded to them at the end of the term. The course of progression has been designed with a step by step approach so that participants move on to what is next within their capability.

All of our coaches undergo a full enhanced Criminal Record Bureau Check.

We are currently reviewing our 1-2-1 coaching program as we engage more coaches to deliver it. Due to the intermittent lockdowns, some of our experienced coaches have decided not to continue therefore we have taken the enquiry off the website. We will endeavor to make 1-2-1 coaching available for new bookings as soon as we can.

If you have a 1-2-1 COACHING VOUCHER, you will still be able to arrange this once we have reopened. Please email to book a date for your coaching session.
