For a number of years, we have developed a training club for Scooter, Skateboard, Inline/Quad Skate, & BMX. The clubs are held through the Northamptonshire school term on Monday/Wednesday evenings for Scooter, Tuesday evenings for Skateboard/BMX, and Wednesday evenings for Inline/Quad. Club session times are 17:45-19:00 and 19:15-20:30. The minimum age to join a training club is 5 years old.
Since our Training Club began, hundreds of trainees have developed, improved, and increased their confidence, sporting, and life skills. Our club sessions are fun, exciting, inspiring, and educational. Organised by sport & level of ability, each group is led by an experienced head coach accompanied by younger aspiring riders/skaters who mentor the trainees while developing their own coaching skills for the future.
Our BMX training club the first official British Cycling BMX Freestyle Talent Development Centre, helping trainees to learn about all aspects of becoming a great rider. This has been launched by the British Cycling talent development programme which aims to support the growth of the sport as well as to put the building blocks in place to identify the next generation of riders with the potential to compete in future Olympic Games.
The cost of the training club is up to £56 for an 8-week course, the course charge reflects the number of weeks in the school term and works out at £7/week.
Please note: Our Skateboard, Scooter, and Inline Clubs welcome those who may have never tried the sports before, however, our BMX club does require beginners to have a basic level of bike riding ability before joining - new attendees must be able to confidently pedal standing up and steer a bike on flat ground without stabilizers.
You can join the Training Club via our ONLINE BOOKING SYSTEM above. This provides priority for those already on the club to rebook for the following term and also allows newcomers to join a course midway through at a reduced price.
During the club, we take all participants through a standardised course of progression based on their chosen discipline. This involves working through each area of the park, starting with the smallest ramps right up to the largest ramps in THE WAIRHOUSE. Instructors tick off a list compulsory and optional outcomes as they are performed to track how each trainee is progressing. Our course of progression has been designed with a step-by-step approach so that participants move on to what is next within their capability.
All of our coaches undergo a full enhanced Criminal Record Bureau Check.
Our Balance Bike Club is for children aged 2-6! The club is great fun, socially interactive, and builds confidence to provide children with a fantastic starting point as future riders. The session lasts 1 hour and takes place outside of our public opening hours every Wednesday from 16:00 to 17:00 during the Northamptonshire school term time.
Please note: Due to high demand, we have added an additional balance bike club (14:00 - 15:00) Starting from 17th April 2024. This club is now available for booking for new members via the booking system above.
You can now book children directly onto the Balance Bike Club using our new booking system above. The price is from £39.00 to £45.50 (depending on how many weeks are in a term) - this works out at just £6.50 per session.
We now provide weekly assisted group action sports coaching with specialist equipment for participants with disabilities at our Adaptive Action Sports Training Club.
Our equipment includes:
ROLLING SUSPENSION FRAME: Supports participants in a harness while they ride a skateboard or scooter on the ramps.
WCMX WHEELCHAIRS: Adult & junior WCMX wheelchairs by RMA sport, the best on the market!
WHEELCHAIR COURSE: Super fun & develops skills to increase independence when out and about.
