We are thrilled to announce that thanks to the FCC Communities Foundation, we have secured the funding to revitalise the unused area at the front of building 3 and transform it into a state-of-the-art health and wellbeing suite under Adrenaline Alley’s new sub-brand, ACTIVE IN MOTION. Equipped with a comprehensive range of 12 low-impact power-assisted exercise machines, free weights, changing rooms, and shower, this development marks a significant milestone for the facility and is due to open this summer!

This will be the only centre of its kind in Corby, catering to a new local audience and extending the reach of our charitable mission. It will also serve as a compelling addition for our existing visitors, particularly the adults accompanying our action sports participants and riders/skaters suffering from sports injuries.

The Innerva equipment being installed has undergone extensive research and development to make a genuine impact on the health and wellbeing of individuals of ALL ages and ALL abilities. Unlike conventional exercise equipment, the Innerva range does not rely exclusively on muscle power, but by an electronic power system enabling users to work passively or actively, depending on their ability. The proven benefits are diverse and far-reaching.

Our ACTIVE IN MOTION health and wellbeing suite and its newly recruited team will strive to:

1. Enhance health by improving both physical fitness and mental well-being
2. Aid weight loss and assist individuals in achieving their goals effectively.
3. Provide a safe, comfortable, and social environment for older exercisers. We aim to create an inclusive space that promotes longer-term independence, improved mobility, balance, and confidence for older adults.
4. Support injury rehabilitation. Physiotherapists across the UK rely on this equipment for effective injury rehabilitation. Our suite will provide a supportive environment to fast-track the road to recovery.
5. Assist those with long-term conditions. The Innerva equipment is particularly beneficial for individuals with conditions such as multiple sclerosis, stroke, fibromyalgia, diabetes, and arthritis, offering support and improved quality of life.
6. Assist those with disabilities. Our suite and its equipment will be completely accessible to those with disabilities and the team will be dedicated to supporting users as they improve agility, strength, flexibility, and range of motion. This will enable challenges to be overcome, greater independence, and a better quality of life.
7. Promote a healthy future for younger visitors. Our suite will provide a fantastic opportunity young people to exercise in a safe environment and it will be a great way to learn how good it feels to lead an active lifestyle.
8. Be welcoming and non-intimidating, fostering confidence in those who may feel overwhelmed in a conventional gym setting.

In addition to the above, people using the centre will have the opportunity to apply to the John Chard-Young Legacy Fund via the Northamptonshire Community Foundation for additional therapies, counselling, and free sessions.
